VLOG: Boracay Truly Wealthy Travel Incentive

The best part about being a real estate broker of Truly Wealthy Realty is the opportunity to travel for FREE. This summer, Stef and I were able to qualify for our Boracay Travel Incentive. So together with my bridesmaids, we headed off for the beautiful island of Boracay. Luckily, we were able to go before Boracay got closed down to be rehabilitated. We had a lot of girl time, frolicked around the beached, sipped margaritas while watching the sunset and had a blast. They even surprised  me with a Boracay Bridal shower. Thank you girls! 4 Tips to a Stress-free Wedding

I can’t believe I’m getting married in 3 days! It seems like only yesterday when Jong proposed. A lot of people have been asking me if I’m already stressed out, but honestly, I’m not. What I’m feeling is more of excitement of what’s to come.

Everything is ready. All our suppliers have been booked and the details are in place. Even our house is ready. We just need to move in. Planning this wedding has been fun for us and also a great learning experience. I know that many brides-to-be feel that planning a wedding is a daunting task. And yes, it can be. But you can enjoy the process with your fiance and even become closer together because of it. I’ve learned a lot about myself and my fiance throughout this planning process and I’d like to share 4 tips with you on how you can enjoy a stress free wedding.

Tip no 1: Team work makes the wedding plans work. I find that some brides end up planning their entire wedding on their own and the groom just shows up the day to attend. Girls, you and your fiance are a team. Do it together. It will more fun and much more fulfilling to do it together rather than to go at it on your own. Think of your wedding prep as a test drive for how well you can work with each other once you’re married. When we started planning our wedding, Jong assured me that we would do this together. That he would be with me every step of the way. And so we did. From the venue, to food, right down to booking lights and sounds, we did it as a team.

Tip no 2: Starting preparing early and follow a process for planning the wedding. I don’t like cramming. I always prefer to be prepared. That’s why we started planning our wedding literally hours after Jong proposed. We were still in Cebu at that time and yet we were busy canvassing suppliers already. The trend now is the guy proposes this year, and the wedding is set on the following year. Trust me, 1 year is more than enough time to plan a wedding. The reason why many people fall into this trap of cramming is that they feel that their wedding is still so far away that they can afford to delay preparing for it. Weddings typically involve a lot of details. There are so many suppliers to book. And if you cram everything in one month, you’ll really feel overwhelmed. So we went at it like we were developing a business plan. What we did first was to create a strategy, a process to follow. Second, we set our budget. Third, we listed down all the suppliers we needed to book according to priority. Since we also had work, we couldn’t pour all our time in planning our wedding. So we would allot a few hours each week to discuss about it, meet and then book the suppliers we wanted. Each month, we would book 2 or 3 suppliers. So after 9 months, we finished booking all the major suppliers. Now, all we had to finalize were the details.

Tip no 3: Choose your suppliers wisely – and trust them to deliver. We booked all our suppliers ourselves. We did our research. We asked people and other suppliers. Then we called and met up with the suppliers we wanted. We chose CDO-based suppliers to avoid additional out-of-town fees and so meet ups would be easier. If you’re based abroad, meeting up with suppliers may be challange. You’ll need someone that you can trust to do this for you. I’m very particular with the suppliers because I wanted the proven and tested ones. Since we were also on a budget, we personally met up/called each supplier so we could stick with our budget. Getting married today is expensive but it doesn’t have to be as expensive as you think. I’ll be posting about How to Get your Dream Wedding on a Budget after the wedding. So once you’ve booked your suppliers, let them do their job. Don’t micromanage. One reason why I’ve been so stress-free is because I booked HM Events to plan our wedding. I’m very hands on with the whole process but I’m not a detail-oriented person. So having Azel (the senior planner assigned to me), to manage all the details for me is awesome. She has a checklist for everything and she reminds of the stuff that I need to do. Yesterday, we met up for our rehearsal and final review of everything and we’re basically done.

Tip no 4: Pray. I cannot over emphasize the power of prayer. Brides, this is our greatest weapon in planning our dream wedding. Prayer can not only move mountains, it can move the hearts of suppliers too. When we started planning for our wedding, we prayed about everything. We prayed for the suppliers we wanted, for the details to be in place and that we would stick to our budget. And by God’s grace, he has really come through (he always has). He sent suppliers and people to help us. Some of the suppliers really gave us huge discounts. It’s just amazing how the Lord can move mountain for you. Just trust Him.

It’s a Happy Ending After All – Why Honesty Pays Off

Last January, I made a blog post about how clients of mine did not push through in renting a listing I had in Morning Mist Village because at the time, they did not have Fiber connection yet. Read full post on “Honesty is Still Always the Best Policy” HERE. They ended up reserving another house in Xavier Estates. But for some reason, the deal did not go through and so they came back to me. I had another opportunity to serve them. This time, I was able to offer them a corner lot house in Ventura Residences. Now, they are happily living there. Plus, their fiber optic connection just got activated this morning. It’s a happy ending after all! :)

It pays to be honest, even if you can potentially lose a deal. Because if you behave with integrity in a consistent manner, people will always come back to you. Trust is an integral part of any relationship – whether personal or business-wise. Money, achievement, a great physique – these things won’t last. But you can leave a legacy with the relationships that you build. And without trust, there can be no relationship. Without relationships, you won’t have a business.
