VLOG: Boracay Truly Wealthy Travel Incentive

The best part about being a real estate broker of Truly Wealthy Realty is the opportunity to travel for FREE. This summer, Stef and I were able to qualify for our Boracay Travel Incentive. So together with my bridesmaids, we headed off for the beautiful island of Boracay. Luckily, we were able to go before Boracay got closed down to be rehabilitated. We had a lot of girl time, frolicked around the beached, sipped margaritas while watching the sunset and had a blast. They even surprised  me with a Boracay Bridal shower. Thank you girls! It was definitely a summer to remember. Cant wait for our next travel incentive! Thank you Truly Wealthy Realty!

VLOG: Cagayan de Oro Lot for Sale in Xavier Estates and Hillsborough

Today I visited 2 our newest listings in Uptown, Cagayan de Oro City. Cagayan is generally divided into two areas – Uptown and Downtown CDO. Uptown CDO is the area around SM CIty (near old airport). Most of my clients prefer to invest here because of the elevated location making it a  flood free area, master-planned community and safe and secure subdivisions with a lot of amenities. The 2 lots I visited are located in premium subdivisions Uptown. One is a 306 sqm ridge lot in Hillsborough Pointe and the other is a 248 sqm lot in Xavier Estates.

4 Tips to a Stress-free Wedding

Processed with VSCO with a4 preset

Processed with VSCO with a4 preset

I can’t believe I’m getting married in 3 days! It seems like only yesterday when Jong proposed. A lot of people have been asking me if I’m already stressed out, but honestly, I’m not. What I’m feeling is more of excitement of what’s to come.

Everything is ready. All our suppliers have been booked and the details are in place. Even our house is ready. We just need to move in. Planning this wedding has been fun for us and also a great learning experience. I know that many brides-to-be feel that planning a wedding is a daunting task. And yes, it can be. But you can enjoy the process with your fiance and even become closer together because of it. I’ve learned a lot about myself and my fiance throughout this planning process and I’d like to share 4 tips with you on how you can enjoy a stress free wedding.

Tip no 1: Team work makes the wedding plans work. I find that some brides end up planning their entire wedding on their own and the groom just shows up the day to attend. Girls, you and your fiance are a team. Do it together. It will more fun and much more fulfilling to do it together rather than to go at it on your own. Think of your wedding prep as a test drive for how well you can work with each other once you’re married. When we started planning our wedding, Jong assured me that we would do this together. That he would be with me every step of the way. And so we did. From the venue, to food, right down to booking lights and sounds, we did it as a team.

Tip no 2: Starting preparing early and follow a process for planning the wedding. I don’t like cramming. I always prefer to be prepared. That’s why we started planning our wedding literally hours after Jong proposed. We were still in Cebu at that time and yet we were busy canvassing suppliers already. The trend now is the guy proposes this year, and the wedding is set on the following year. Trust me, 1 year is more than enough time to plan a wedding. The reason why many people fall into this trap of cramming is that they feel that their wedding is still so far away that they can afford to delay preparing for it. Weddings typically involve a lot of details. There are so many suppliers to book. And if you cram everything in one month, you’ll really feel overwhelmed. So we went at it like we were developing a business plan. What we did first was to create a strategy, a process to follow. Second, we set our budget. Third, we listed down all the suppliers we needed to book according to priority. Since we also had work, we couldn’t pour all our time in planning our wedding. So we would allot a few hours each week to discuss about it, meet and then book the suppliers we wanted. Each month, we would book 2 or 3 suppliers. So after 9 months, we finished booking all the major suppliers. Now, all we had to finalize were the details.

Tip no 3: Choose your suppliers wisely – and trust them to deliver. We booked all our suppliers ourselves. We did our research. We asked people and other suppliers. Then we called and met up with the suppliers we wanted. We chose CDO-based suppliers to avoid additional out-of-town fees and so meet ups would be easier. If you’re based abroad, meeting up with suppliers may be challange. You’ll need someone that you can trust to do this for you. I’m very particular with the suppliers because I wanted the proven and tested ones. Since we were also on a budget, we personally met up/called each supplier so we could stick with our budget. Getting married today is expensive but it doesn’t have to be as expensive as you think. I’ll be posting about How to Get your Dream Wedding on a Budget after the wedding. So once you’ve booked your suppliers, let them do their job. Don’t micromanage. One reason why I’ve been so stress-free is because I booked HM Events to plan our wedding. I’m very hands on with the whole process but I’m not a detail-oriented person. So having Azel (the senior planner assigned to me), to manage all the details for me is awesome. She has a checklist for everything and she reminds of the stuff that I need to do. Yesterday, we met up for our rehearsal and final review of everything and we’re basically done.

Tip no 4: Pray. I cannot over emphasize the power of prayer. Brides, this is our greatest weapon in planning our dream wedding. Prayer can not only move mountains, it can move the hearts of suppliers too. When we started planning for our wedding, we prayed about everything. We prayed for the suppliers we wanted, for the details to be in place and that we would stick to our budget. And by God’s grace, he has really come through (he always has). He sent suppliers and people to help us. Some of the suppliers really gave us huge discounts. It’s just amazing how the Lord can move mountain for you. Just trust Him.

And there you have it! My 4 tips to a stress-free wedding. If you have any questions, feel free to call or email me. I’d be glad to help out. Especially since so many people have helped us out with our wedding – this is just me returning the favor. Blessed to bless.

It’s a Happy Ending After All – Why Honesty Pays Off

Last January, I made a blog post about how clients of mine did not push through in renting a listing I had in Morning Mist Village because at the time, they did not have Fiber connection yet. Read full post on “Honesty is Still Always the Best Policy” HERE. They ended up reserving another house in Xavier Estates. But for some reason, the deal did not go through and so they came back to me. I had another opportunity to serve them. This time, I was able to offer them a corner lot house in Ventura Residences. Now, they are happily living there. Plus, their fiber optic connection just got activated this morning. It’s a happy ending after all! :)

It pays to be honest, even if you can potentially lose a deal. Because if you behave with integrity in a consistent manner, people will always come back to you. Trust is an integral part of any relationship – whether personal or business-wise. Money, achievement, a great physique – these things won’t last. But you can leave a legacy with the relationships that you build. And without trust, there can be no relationship. Without relationships, you won’t have a business.

Integrity means doing the right thing simply because it’s the right thing to do. It means staying true to your word. It means keeping your promises. This is why honest people give promises carefully – because one they’ve given a promise, they’ll follow through no matter what. This why Jon Snow refused to swear allegiance to Cersei Lannister because he had already sworn fealty to Daenerys, telling her “I cannot serve two queens.”

When enough people make false promises, words stop meaning anything, and there are no more answers — only better and better lies.”

-Jon Snow, Game of Thrones

What about you?

How honest are you to yourself and to others? Do you mean what you say? Do you keep your word?

With honesty you can move towards your dreams without fear or hesitation. Because you know that no matter what happens, you’ve made the commitment to stay true to yourself and to others.

Decide to be honest. Live with integrity.

Honesty is Still Always the Best Policy

One thing that I value most in my relationships – whether it’s in business, family or my love life – is honesty. When you know you can trust someone, even when the going gets tough, you’re able to continue on. I believe that trust is the foundation of a great relationship. That is why when my partners and I started Truly Wealthy Realty 6 years ago, we decided that the core value of our realty would be Integrity.

bga-integrityPhoto from bgaprotection.com

Integrity is one of the most important qualities you can ever develop. It is the key to living a happy and fulfilling life. Your commitment to being totally honest with yourself and others will bring you freedom and happiness. To live a life of integrity, you must determine your core values and live according to those values – no excuses.

Integrity is a personal choice to hold yourself accountable to ethical and moral standards. It can be measured by one thing – consistency. It’s easy enough to be honest one time. But it takes discipline and commitment to behave with integrity in a consistent manner. Integrity is not about taking the easier road. It’s about doing the right thing simply because it’s the right thing to do. It’s about keeping your promises. It’s about telling the truth even if it means you won’t make that sale.

There are no moral shortcuts in the game of business or life. There are, basically, three kinds of people, the unsuccessful, the temporarily successful, and those who become and remain successful. The difference is character.
-Jon Huntsman, Sr. , Billionaire

Integrity is the backbone of any successful business. It’s simple. People will not do business with someone they can’t trust. Jon Huntsman said it best. Everyday you have a choice. Would you rather be temporarily successful or would you prefer to remain eternally successful?

Last week Ms Jenny contacted me looking for a house to rent in Uptown, Cagayan de Oro City. Since she’s based in the US, it was her sister that I accompanied to view my listings. Out of the houses I offered her, she liked one house in Morning Mist Village. It was a newly renovated corner lot property, right beside the park. Their only condition was that there had to be fiber connection available in the subdivision because her husband needed fast internet to work. After asking some of our clients who lived in Morning Mist Village, we found that fiber connection still was not available in Morning Mist Village.

Here’s a virtual tour of the Morning Mist House for Rent:

Today, Ms Jenny informed me that her sister already found another house for her. Even though I wasn’t her broker for that deal, I was still happy for her, and so I congratulated her. To my surprise, she sent me this reply.

Thank you! I really appreciate imong positive behavior! You will go far sa imong field tungod ana. God will bless you even more! 😊Actually na-appreciate jud nako imong honesty bahin sa MMV nga house. Coz kung lahi pa nga realtor, you could have easily said nga yeah pwd mataoran fiber optic pero dili diay & then we will be stuck bitaw kay pag-abot namo diha wala naman mi mahimo kay nakabayad naman. Ana bitaw. God blesses people jud nga honest! So I just want you to know nga high kaayo akong regard sa imong pagkatawo because of that.
-Jenny

I was really touched by her messaged and was also a little surprised that she noticed. Most people don’t seem to mind things like this. They just expect you to be honest and that’s it. Even though I didn’t close this deal, I’m still happy because my client was able to appreciate her experience with me as a real estate broker. I’m in this industry because I love assisting people with their real estate needs. My primary intention is to help people; to serve them to the best of my ability. My clients needs come first.

Honesty and integrity are by far the most important assets of an entrepreneur.
-Zig Ziglar

Behaving with integrity is a commitment. It’s not easy but every time you make that choice, your self-respect will increase with every honest decision you make. As your respect for yourself grows, this will positively impact all the other areas in your life.

The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionable integrity. Without it no real success is possible, whether it is on a section gang, football field, in an army, or in the office.
-Dwight Eisenhower

I’m far from perfect. It is only by God’s grace that I am able to do what’s right. It’s his strength and not mine. It’s my desire to live my life in such as way so that when people look at my life, they will see Christ in it. This includes behaving with integrity.

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
-1 Corinthians 10:31

What about you? Is there an area in your life where you struggle in being true to yourself? Perhaps it’s time to look beyond your fears and insecurities and be true to yourself. It’s only when you’re able to be honest with yourself that you can be honest with others. And only then can you behave with integrity.

Go live a Truly Wealthy life.
